Platow (also Platen ) is the name of an aristocratic family from the Brandenburg region that owned properties in the Mark Brandenburg and the Duchy of Prussia (East Prussia) around the 15th century .

The gender is to be distinguished from the old Lower Saxon noble family of Plato , which also has a different coat of arms.

In addition to the Mark Brandenburg with Boossen (1572), Haselberg (1455), Prötzel (1455), Reitwein (1578), Harnekopf (1580) and Blumenthal (1610) and Klessin (1635), the family was also wealthy in East Prussia a. a. in Bauditten , Kanthen , Kattern, Mitteldorf and Talpitten .
