Plaza Huincul ( Mapudungun : wigkul , "mountain") is a city in Patagonia, Argentina . It is located in the Department of Confluencia in the province of Neuquén . Together with the neighboring town of Cutral-Có , it forms an agglomeration with 46,268 inhabitants, making this agglomeration the second largest in the province.

history

The city was founded on April 24, 1966 .

economy

In 1918 petroleum was found near the city . The most important company is the Refinery belonging to Repsol YPF .

Attractions

The biggest attraction in town is the Carmen Funes Paleontological Museum , which exhibits the Argentinosaurus fossils .
