Pleikard von Gemmingen (* 1536 ; † September 30, 1594 ) was the landlord in Fürfeld , Bonfeld and Eschenau , where he was awarded the High Court of Justice in 1593 .

Life

He was the son of Wolf von Gemmingen († 1555) and inherited together with his brother Dietrich (1526–1587) after the childless death of his uncle Philipp von Gemmingen († 1544) his property in Fürfeld and Eschenau , where he was initially under guardianship by Hans Landschad, Eberhard von Gemmingen, Peter von Mentzingen and Philipp von Gemmingen-Guttenberg.

When the estate was divided, Gemmingen came to Dieter, while Pleikard Fürfeld received part of Bönnigheim , Eschenau and the Dammhof . The brothers also shared the Gemminger benefices among themselves. Pleikard took the Katharinenpfründe and the Johannispfründe with him to Eschenau, where he had construction work carried out on Eschenau Castle . He himself had his residence in Fürfeld, where he also expanded Fürfeld Castle and had the Fürfeld warehouse book renewed in 1573 . A renaissance door from 1571 in the Seegarten belonging to the Fürfeld Castle, which is no longer preserved , was inscribed with Pleikard's name and that of his first wife, Elisabeth von Nippenburg. The couple's initials can still be found today on the castle's fortification tower from 1577 , known as the Schießhäusle .

In 1574, after the childless death of Weyrich von Gemmingen zu Bonfeld, Pleikard also came into the possession of the castle and town of Bonfeld . He also inherited part of the library from Weyrich's father Philip the Wise . Pleikard in May 1590 requested that Emperor Rudolf II. , The High jurisdiction for the little town and the villages Fürfeld Bonfeld and Eschenau which he was awarded in 1593. He was buried in Fürfeld.
