The Primeira Liga 1999/2000 was the 66th season of the top Portuguese division in men's football. It began on August 20, 1999 and ended on May 14, 2000.

Sporting Lisbon became Portuguese football champions for the 17th time in their history . The newcomers from the Liga de Honra were Gil Vicente FC , Belenenses Lisbon and CD Santa Clara . Club CD Santa Clara was relegated in the same year and last year's champions FC Porto came in second. The top scorer was Mário Jardel with 37 goals .
