Roman Pletter

Roman Pletter (* 1980 in Munich ) is a German journalist . He is deputy head of economics at the weekly newspaper Die Zeit .

Life

Roman Pletter studied economics in the social sciences at the University of Cologne and graduated from the Cologne School of Journalism for Politics and Economics. He then worked as an editor and reporter for the business magazine brand eins . He later worked as a freelance writer, including for the ZEIT dossier, and in the summer of 2009 as a guest editor and Arthur F. Burns Fellow at the Washington Post . From 2010 to mid-2011 he was head of the report department at Handelsblatt. In July 2013 he started at ZEIT.

• 2009 "Outstanding Achievement" at the Axel Springer Prize for his report on a silversmith with the title "Silvered Time", published in brand eins.
• 2008 Ludwig Erhard Prize for Economic Journalism from the Ludwig Erhard Foundation.
• 2006 Alexander Rhomberg Prize , awarded by the Society for German Language for the maintenance of language culture in the media
• 2005 Herbert Quandt Media Prize for business journalism for "Hirtreiter and the Hellhounds"
• 2004 Young Talent Award of the Georg von Holtzbrinck Prize for Business Journalism for his entrepreneur portrait in the Passauer Neue Presse with the title “Hirtreiter und die Höllenhunde”, published in brand eins.
• 2003 Helmut Stegmann Prize from the German Schools of Journalism
