Pelp Strik (born May 27, 1944 in Rotterdam ) is a former Dutch football player .

Club career

Strik moved up from youth to the first team of Feyenoord Rotterdam in 1963 , but was not used in the Eredivisie . He then joined the Go Ahead Eagles for three years , for whom he played from 1964 to 1967.

Strik spent the most successful time of his career at PSV Eindhoven , where he became team captain and between December 1967 and March 1975 only missed two league games. With PSV he won the Dutch championship in 1975 and 1976 and was cup winner in 1974 and 1976 .

In 1976 Strik moved to local rivals FC Eindhoven , with whom he was relegated to the Eerste Divisie in 1977 . With his move to NEC Nijmegen , Strik returned to the Eredivisie after just one year. In 1982, at the age of 38, he continued his career in the Eerste Divisie at VVV-Venlo , where he ended his active career in 1984.

National team

On September 7, 1969 Strik made his debut for the Dutch national team in the World Cup qualifier against Poland .

Bondscoach Rinus Michels appointed him to the Dutch squad at the 1974 World Cup in Germany , where he was not used.

He played his last game for "Oranje" on May 26, 1974 in a friendly against Argentina . In that last game he also scored his only goal for the national team.
