The Plješevica ( Croatian also Lička Plješivica ) is a mountain range in south-eastern Europe , which is located in the Lika-Senj County on the border between Bosnia-Herzegovina and Croatia near Bihać . It is part of the Dinaric Mountains and stretches from the Plitvice Lakes and the Mala Kapela Mountains in the north over 40 kilometers to Gračac in the south. There the Plješevica merges into the Velebit . In the northern part, the state border runs directly over the main ridge of the mountains.

The highest point of the mountain is the summit Ozeblin ( 1657  m ) in the southern part near Donji Lapac . It is also the fourth highest mountain in Croatia. The highest mountain of the northern part is Gola Plješevica ("Kahle Plješevica", 1649  m ), which overlooks Bihać.

Only a few roads cross the mountains, the trunk roads 1 ( Karlovac - Split ) and 218 ( Knin - Bihać) bypass it in the west and east.

In the municipality of Plitvička Jezera on the Croatian side, or the municipality Bihac in Bosnia-Herzegovina, was up to the Yugoslav Wars one of the largest underground hangar in Europe, Željava Air Base . Their halls and corridors have been dug into the Plješevica mountains to create a safe air force base.

On the 1567  m high Crni Vrh, in the Croatian part of the mountain range, there is a transmitter of the Croatian radio for radio and television.
