action

The habitual criminal Roby Schmucker is sent to prison. The fourth time in jail he, who is used to getting through as a loner, remains very calm. First he gets an overview of who can say what and which colleague can get what. Nothing is like it used to be, the pace has become a lot harder. Only the director is an old acquaintance. Roby knows from his previous prison stays that the Pope, as he calls the director of the institution, has the reins under control in this building. Smiling, he recommends: work properly and no violence.

Roby Schmucker expects to be outside soon. But after his trial, Roby looks straight in the eye: sentenced to 12 years in prison. Roby is faced with the question of escape or suicide. When he learns of a black inmate's escape plan, he hangs on. The director gets wind of the matter and unceremoniously turns the attempted breakout into an alarm exercise. The attempt to break out fails.

When Roby finds out that his daughter is missing, he smashes his cell. He collects more stringent bunker detention. Now he's at the bottom. Thrown back on himself, he dreams wistfully of his time in Africa. There he worked as a fitter and started a family. In memory of this happiness, a thought is immovable in Roby's head. He wants to go out and see his daughter again. Therefore, he confides in the Muslim prisoner Mohammed Hiab. A friendship develops between the two.

Roby makes an incredible discovery in the prison cellar. The director's son - a failed economics student - had a Russian prisoner hired him to make lucky pills in a laboratory in the prison cellar. When the director learns that his son is producing drugs in jail, he is forced to either report his own son or to take him out of the country. Roby Schmucker and his cellmate collect the evidence. The director can be blackmailed and the key to freedom is within reach. Roby Schmucker has the fight of his life to fight.
