Peter Rühring

Peter Rühring (born July 10, 1942 in Bremerhaven ) is a German actor .

Life

Education and theater

Rühring completed an acting training at the Westphalian Drama School in Bochum . In the course of his further career he had several permanent engagements as a theater actor , for example at the Nationaltheater Mannheim (1972–1988), the Staatstheater Stuttgart (1988–1996) and most recently at the Residenztheater Munich (1996–2001), where he was directed by Klaus Emmerich , Anselm Weber and Gerd Heinz could be seen. He then worked as a freelance actor and as a guest actor at various theaters.

Movie and TV

Rühring also worked in numerous movies and television productions. He played the role of Richard Arnold Bermann in the numerous Academy Award-winning love drama The English Patient (1996). He was also seen in the movies Manila by Romuald Karmakar , Bandits and Baader . In 2007 he played the role of prison director Schwerdfeger in the Swiss comedy film Chicken Mexicaine . He portrayed Karl Dönitz in the multi-part documentary drama Speer und Er . In the ZDF television film Stars shine also in the day (2004) he played the role of the old husband Mr. Morgenthal, who was terminally ill with cancer, alongside Veronica Ferres Wife grants active euthanasia at her request .

He also had regular episode roles in several television series, including the television series For all cases Stefanie , Großstadtrevier , Notruf Hafenkante (2008, as school director Weinrich), SOKO 5113 and Polizeiruf 110 . He also appeared in several episodes of the crime series Tatort , most recently in 2009 as Mr Bäuerle, who has to identify his missing stepdaughter, in the Lena Odenthal crime scene Missing .

From March 2011 to March 2012 he was on the ARD television series Rote Rosen in the role of the long-established Lüneburg pharmacist Achim Meissner. He was on the main cast of the series before his role went to India . A short guest appearance followed in May 2012.

In the television series All Friendship - The Young Doctors (first broadcast: August 2016) he had a leading role in the episode as a 70-year-old suicidal patient Albert Runge. In January 2018 Rühring was seen in the ZDF crime series Taunuskrimi in the film Im Wald in a supporting role as the old Catholic village pastor Adalbert Maurer, who is the victim of a violent crime.
