Pnytagoras (son of Euagoras)
Pnytagoras (old Greek Πνυταγόρας; † 374 / .. 373 BC ) was the son of I. Evagoras , the king of the Cypriot city-state of Salamis . He was intended as heir to the throne and supported his father in his elevation against the Persians . He defended Salamis in 381 BC. After the lost sea battle at Kition , when his father fled to Egypt.
Both father and son are said to have had a relationship with the daughter of the conspirator Nikokreon . Pnytagoras was apparently the father of her son Pnytagoras , who would later become king of Salamis. Pnytagoras and his father Euagoras were murdered by the eunuch Thrasydaios . The king's successor was Pnytagoras' brother Nicocles .
