Podlesí (German Schönwald ) is a district of Budišov nad Budišovkou ( Bautsch ) in Okres Opava in the Czech Republic . It extends at a height of approx. 500 to 700 m in the source of the Podleský creek .
history
Schönwald was founded in the 13th century on the initiative of the Olomouc bishop Bruno von Schauenburg . Place names in the area such as Hof and Nuremberg suggest that the settlers mainly came from Franconia , where they were probably recruited by locators .
In 1920 Schönwald had 794 mostly German-speaking residents. These were expelled in 1946 . The slate quarry should be noted as a special feature in the agricultural area . The slate was used to cover the houses with slate, which is common in the area.
After the Munich Agreement , Schönwald was added to the German Reich and until 1945 belonged to the district of Bärn .
In 1991 the place had 97 inhabitants. In 2001 the village consisted of 80 houses in which 76 people lived.
Sons and daughters of the church
The philosopher Franz Kröner was born in Schönwald in 1889 .
