Pohlitz is a district of Bad Köstritz in the Greiz district in Thuringia .

location

The district of Pohlitz is east of the city of Bad Köstritz and the river Weisse Elster at the foot and slope of the eastern slopes of the Elsterauen . The district road 101 and a sidewalk underpass of the railway line connects the district with the city and gives a connection to the federal road 7 .

history

The village of Pohlitz was first mentioned on May 23, 1449. A new church was built in 1723 for the previous Romanesque building.

In 1819 an L5-type stone meteorite weighing around three kilograms fell on a field between Pohlitz and Langenberg . He was registered under the official name "Pohlitz".
