The Pointdexter Peak is a 1215 m high mountain in the west Antarctic Marie-Byrd-Land . It rises 6 km southeast of Bennett Bluff on the western flank of the upper section of the Berry Glacier .
The United States Geological Survey mapped it using its own surveys and aerial photographs of the United States Navy from 1959 to 1965. The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named it in 1966 after the meteorologist Monte F. Poindexter, who was part of the United States Antarctic in 1962 Research Program on the Byrd Station .
