Point Pleasant Beach is a coastal town on New Jersey's Barnegat Peninsula, a long, offshore peninsula that separates Barnegat Bay from the Atlantic Ocean. The place covers about 4.5 km², of which 3.7 km² are land and 0.7 km² are water.

Point Pleasant Beach and its beaches are of regional importance as a recreational area. The waterfront (Jenkinsons Boardwalk) is about 1.5–2 km long and offers many fairground attractions, ice cream parlors, restaurants etc. during the summer season. In contrast to Atlantic City further south, Point Pleasant Beach has retained a rather quiet family character.
