Political Spokesperson (Denmark)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

In Denmark , a political spokesman ( Danish politisk ordfører ) is a member of a parliamentary assembly (e.g. the Folketing ), which announces and officially represents his group's proposals and assessments . He acts in plenary sessions , in committees and in the media . The political spokesman is primarily responsible for external communication. He will therefore regularly endeavor to limit the damage in public in critical situations of his party , launch positive formulations and promote the political line of the party.

In contrast to this, the group chairman (gruppeformand) organizes the daily group business, prepares group meetings and informs the boards of the other groups about the content and results of these meetings. He should strive for a uniform and politically consistent voting behavior of his group members.

In exceptional cases, a top politician can be entrusted with both positions. Very different motives can be decisive for this.
