Pollo Campero (Eng. " Free Range Chicken ") is an internationally expanding franchise and system catering company from Guatemala . In 2009 the company had sales of 400 million US dollars with 325 branches. The chain belongs to the large corporation Corporación Multi Inversiones (CMI), one of the largest in Central America with 30,000 employees.

history

The first Pollo Campero fast-food restaurant was opened in Guatemala City in 1971 by a group of Guatemalan entrepreneurs under the leadership of Dionisio Gutiérrez , father of the current managing director Juan José Gutiérrez (* 1958).

In 1994 the first restaurants were handed over to franchisees and expansion began in the Central American neighboring states of Guatemala as well as in Mexico and then also in the USA , especially in Florida and California . In 2006 Pollo Campero opened its first restaurant in Madrid , Spain , and in 2007 in Indonesia and China . Around 500 restaurants are to be opened in China by 2015, and around 100 in Spain and Portugal.

Today the company is one of the leading and fastest growing fast food chains in Latin America . Pollo Campero offers in its restaurants on four continents, among other numerous menus (including hamburgers ) on Brathühnchen- and egg basis. There are special offers for the North American, European and Asian markets.
