The Polomet ( Russian По́лометь ) is a right tributary of the Pola in the Russian Oblast of Novgorod in the catchment area of Lake Ilmen .

The polomet has its origin in the 2.4 km² lake Russkoye on the Valdai heights . It flows through the Valdai and Damjansk administrative districts in the south of Novgorod Oblast. It flows in a wide arc initially to the north, later to the west and finally to the southwest. westerly direction. Eventually the Polomet meets the Pola flowing north. The small towns of Jaschelbizy and Lychkovo lie on the river. The most important tributary of the Polomet is the Jarynja from the right.

The polomet has a length of 150 km. It drains an area of ​​2767 km². The river is mainly fed by the snowmelt . 120 km above the mouth, the mean discharge is 7.74 m³ / s.

The polomet was used for rafting , at least in the past .
