Count Pontius Vela of Cabrera , also Ponce Vela de Cabrera or Ponce Vélaz de Cabrera († September 24, 1202 ) was a nobleman in the Kingdom of León , who played an important role during the reign of King Alfonso IX. played.

Life

Pontius Vela von Cabrera was born as the son of Count Vela Gutiérrez († 1160) and Countess Sancha Pontius von Cabrera († 1176). His grandfather was Pontius Geraldus von Cabrera , a high official at the court of the Spanish Emperor Alfonso VII of León and Castile .
