Bangs (hairstyle)
The bangs , also called forehead fringes , is a hairstyle in which the hair on the front of the head is cut so that the cut edge on the forehead forms a more or less straight line that is either exactly horizontal or slightly inclined.
The term is based on the mane of a pony horse.
Types of ponies
Outside wave pony
The blow dryer hairstyle is from the 1970s. The best- known representative is Farrah Fawcett , who significantly shaped this cut. The pony is split in two and blown to the side. The tips are turned outwards with a curling iron or curler of medium or large size. The look looks very elegant and sophisticated.
Fringe bangs
The bangs are not cut straight as a dead bolt, but are tiered and slightly asymmetrical, so that individual fringes fall into the face. The steps are reached by shortening the top hair. The pony goes sideways into the main hair. Jessica Alba wore this type of pony for a long time.
French pony

The front hair is extremely teased and tucked backwards. Like the French pony, the great one is typical of the rockabilly scene, which started in the 1950s but is now gaining enormous influence in the fashion world.
Curly bangs
These bangs are particularly suitable for natural waves and curls, but can also be styled with a curling iron. This type of forehead fringe can be fringed or full bangs, characteristic is the curly hair.
Pony roll
The pony roll dates from the 1940s and 1950s. It is characterized by a long roller that is blown either up or down using a curler or iron.
Oblique pony

Side wavy bangs / side quiff

These are long, isolated strands that fall on the face. This pony cut can be found especially in the emo scene.
Full pony
The front hair covers the eyebrows, it is characterized by fullness and curl. With straight full bangs, the forehead fringes are clearly contoured to the main hair, but the full bangs can also merge laterally into the main hair. Well-known representatives are Heidi Klum and Taylor Swift .
