Pool is a German band from Hamburg that plays indie pop with English lyrics.

history

Pool consists of Daniel Husten (drums), David Stoltzenberg (bass, vocals) and Nils Hansen (guitar, vocals). The three have known each other since school together and decided at the age of 13 to start a band.

In January 2012, Pool released their first EP Game Over on the Hamburg record label 2DIY4 , which also contains a remix of Solomun's title track . In May 2012 they were awarded the Hamburg Musicians Prize Krach & Getöse . The second EP Flex was released in February 2013. Then they got a record deal with Rykodisc and released their debut album Snacks & Supplies in April 2015 . The song State of Mind was released as the first single .

In 2013/2014, Pool played as tour support for the British band The 1975 , previously the band had also been touring with Digitalism . In September 2013, Pool performed at the Berlin Festival . Their song Harm was declared the official festival anthem by the organizers and was used in the festival's advertising trailer. Pool also played at many other events, including the Fusion Festival 2012 and South by Southwest 2013. In April 2014, Pool was featured in The Guardian as the "New Band of the Week" and compared to the British band Hard-Fi . The two songs released in 2016, "Forever Like That" and "Holding on to Summer" and the accompanying music videos were released on the Hamburg record label XP1 Records .
