Poppekerke ( Sirpoppekerke in Zeeland ) was a village in today's municipality of Veere in the Dutch province of Zeeland . It was located east of Westkapelle on Walcheren .

Poppekerke was first mentioned when the place was parish off as an independent parish in 1271 by St. Willibrord in Westkapelle. In the course of the Eighty Years' War , the Gothic parish church of Popperkerke, consecrated to St. Peter, was devastated around 1574. In 1577/78 material from the church was used to restore St. Johannes in Domburg . The ruin of the church was finally demolished in 1851. In the course of the 19th century, the Vliedberg von Poppekerke was also torn down. In 1816 the parish Westkapelle-Buiten en Sirpoppekerke was merged into Westkapelle.

Today only one street name reminds of the place.

There is also an entrance and exit sign (as of August 31, 2016).
