Richard Nemec (born May 3, 1972 in Bratislava , Czechoslovakia ) is a Slovak volleyball player .

Career

Richard Nemec began playing volleyball in his home country at VKP Bratislava , with which he was Slovak champion five times in a row from 1993 to 1997. He then moved to the Bundesliga club VfB Friedrichshafen and won the German championship and the DVV Cup here in 1998 . In addition, the middle blocker took first place in the German volleyball rankings in the block, attack and serve categories and was voted the “most valuable player”. He then went to Italy to join Ravenna Volley. After a stopover in 2000/01 at the Greek club Iraklis Thessaloniki , he returned to Italy and played for Sisley Treviso for three years . Here he was twice Italian champion, once Italian cup winner and also won the CEV cup . After a one-year break, Richard Nemec continued to play in Italy with Cagliari Volley, Trentino Volley , Perugia Volley and the Canadiens Mantova . In 2009/10 he played for one season in Austria at the aon hotVolleys in Vienna and in 2010/11 again in his home country at VTU Bratislava. After a brief engagement at Pallavolo Modena , Nemec returned to the aon hotVolleys in Vienna in January 2013.

Richard Nemec played 250 times for the Slovak national team and took part in five European championships ( 1993 , 1997 , 2001 , 2003 and 2011 ).
