The Portal Point is a narrow point of land on the Danco Coast of the West Antarctic Graham Lands . It is located at the northeast end of the Reclus Peninsula .
The Falkland Islands Dependencies Survey built a refuge here in 1956, which served as the starting point for a route to the inland plateau. The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named the headland this way in 1960, as it is the gateway to this route.
