Pou Chen is a conglomerate in Taiwan that primarily develops, manufactures and sells shoes , as well as OEM / ODM products from the information technology sector (especially TFT-LCD screens ), and sells them worldwide.

The group leader of the Pou Chen Group is the Pou Chen Corporation (PCC) based in Changhua County . The group of companies founded by Tsai Chi-jui in 1969 is managed by several brothers from the Tsai family. In his list of "Asia's Fab 50 Companies" in 2007 that led to Forbes Magazine Pou Chen with a market capitalization of 2.7 billion US dollars and a turnover of 5.8 billion USD. Pou Chen is listed on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.

Important investments (selection)

  • Yue Yuen Industrial (Holdings) Ltd., based in Hong Kong: the world's largest contract manufacturer for sports shoes (including for Nike, adidas, Reebok, Asics, New Balance, Puma, Timberland and Rockport), but also produces sandals, trekking and work shoes (including for Dr. Marten, Timberland, and Wolverine) as well as shoe accessories. After Pou Chen was involved in scandals because of exploitative working conditions and child labor , production was outsourced at the beginning of the 2000s to the subsidiary Yue Yuen, which was founded in Hong Kong in 1988; Research, development and sales (including in almost 1,000 of its own shoe stores in the PRC) will continue to be carried out by the Pou Chen holding company. The shoes division accounts for about half to two thirds of the total sales of the Pou Chen Group.
  • Elitegroup Computer Systems (ECS): one of the largest PC motherboard manufacturers in the world; ECS in turn owns other companies (e.g. the notebook manufacturer Uniwill Computer Corporation)
  • various other subsidiaries (e.g. TDV Vision) and joint ventures (e.g. TechView Technology with Quanta Computer , or with SVA) for the production of LCD monitors.
