Quanta is an ODM specialist founded in Taiwan in 1988 , which in the first quarter of 2008 produced approx. 31 percent of all notebooks worldwide; 52.1 million devices were shipped in 2010. The company also manufactures network servers, set-top boxes , optical drives , LCDs and cordless telephones . Customers include or included companies such as Acer , Apple , Dell , Hewlett-Packard , Lenovo , Blackberry , Panasonic , Fujitsu-Siemens or Fujitsu , Sony and Toshiba .

JBOD data storage enclosure (Just a Bunch of Disks)
- 19-inch hard drive enclosure without independent CPU hardware. They are usually connected to a larger server via a SAS controller. The housings only take over the power supply and cooling of the hard disks and mostly also the connection to the actual server with a hard disk data transmission interface such as SAS or SATA via host bus adapter (HBA) .
