Quanta is an ODM specialist founded in Taiwan in 1988 , which in the first quarter of 2008 produced approx. 31 percent of all notebooks worldwide; 52.1 million devices were shipped in 2010. The company also manufactures network servers, set-top boxes , optical drives , LCDs and cordless telephones . The housings only take over the power supply and cooling of the hard disks and mostly also the connection to the actual server with a hard disk data transmission interface such as SAS or SATA via host bus adapter (HBA) .

In GPS hardware , car radios and reversing cameras specialized company which in 2005 went public in 2006 and came under the umbrella of Quanta Computer.
