The Poutini Peak is a 2062 m high mountain in the East Antarctic Victoria Land . In the Royal Society Range, it rises 1.5 km west of Murihau Peak on the south flank of Bowden Glacier from Chancellor Ridge , which marks the head end of Blue Glacier .
The New Zealand Geographic Board named it in 1994 after a character from Morian mythology. Poutini is the protective taniwha in Pounamu .
