Power Horse is an energy drink from Power Horse Energy Drinks GmbH, which has been independent since 2004. It was brought onto the market in 1994 by the Austrian food company S. Spitz . In 1996, the Austrian Alfred Inzinger acquired the marketing and distribution rights and until a legal dispute in 2004 he sold the drink. During his time he built up the Arab and US market and was able to establish the drink. He sponsored u. a. with Power Horse the F1 Team Arrows. He lost the legal dispute, since 2004 all rights have been owned by the independent Power Horse Energy Drinks GmbH. In addition to the headquarters in Linz, there are subsidiaries in Dubai and Mill Valley .

Power Horse is offered in cans with 250 ml, 355 ml, 330 ml, 500 ml contents and in 250 ml glass bottles. There is also a sugar-free version. There is also an energy drink with a cola flavor, the Energy Cola. The drink is sold in over 50 countries.

Around 100 million cans are produced in Linz every year, 99 percent of which are exported abroad. In the Arab world and Africa, the drink is sometimes more strongly represented than the industry leader Red Bull (as of 2010). In 2011 there were already 150 million filled cans.

The Federal Institute for Risk Assessment warned of health risks that when consuming large amounts of such drinks in connection with the consumption of alcoholic beverages, undesirable effects cannot be ruled out, especially in larger amounts, are not recommended for children, pregnant women, breastfeeding women and people sensitive to caffeine.

In 1996 Power Horse Superbike was sponsor of Alfred Inzinger's Ducati Team . The promoter team became world champions with Power Horse as sponsor and in 1996 with Troy Corser .

When Alfred Inzinger took over the rights to Power Horse in 1996/97, Power Horse was a sponsor of Tom Walkinshaw's Arrows Formula 1 team .

In 2011 and 2012 the brand was the main sponsor of the World Team Cup in Düsseldorf , which was held one last time as a single tournament in 2013 .

Power Horse is the main sponsor of the Beach Soccer Championships and supports teams and events in Russia, Brazil, Ukraine, Italy, Germany, Spain and the United Arab Emirates. In 2011 Power Horse was the official energy drink partner of the German Bundesliga club Bayer 04 Leverkusen and the Romanian Bundesliga club and champion of 2013, Steaua Bucharest .

Power Horse was also the outfitter of the road cycling team Team Stölting and a co-sponsor and partner of the World Triathlon Corporation (WTC). In the 2013 season, the brand competed with the Power Horse Triathlon Team .
