Poytugʻ is a city (shahar) in the Uzbek province of Andijon in the Ferghana Valley and the capital of the Izboskan district .

The city is located about 20 km northwest of the provincial capital Andijon . It has a station on the Uchqoʻrgʻon -Andijon line of the Uzbek Railways ( Oʻzbekiston Temir Yoʻllari ). The Great Ferghana Canal flows north of the city .

In 1980 Poytugʻ received city status. According to the 1989 population census, the city had 19,389 inhabitants, according to a calculation for 2010, the population was 27,632.
