Presidential Office of the Republic of Azerbaijan
The President's Office of Azerbaijan Republic ( English Administrative Department of the President , Azerbaijani Azərbaycan Respublikası Prezidentinin İşlər İdarəsi ) is the authority of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan , based in Baku . It is responsible for supporting and fulfilling the constitutional responsibilities of the Head of State of Azerbaijan .
The authority is headed by the head of the presidential office, who is appointed by the president. Since 1995 Ramiz Mehdiyev has been the head of the presidential office, who has served the incumbent President İlham Əliyev since 2003 .
history
The office of the President began its work after the declaration of independence from Azerbaijan in 1991. It sits in the Presidential Palace in Baku.
The presidential palace
The twelve-story building with a facade made of marble and granite was erected in eight years from 1978 and completed in 1986. The preparatory work began in October 1977 on the initiative of Heydər Əliyev . The realization took place according to the plans of Fuad Orujov (project manager), Tahir Allahverdiyev (architect) and Madat Khalafov (designer). The building became the seat of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Azerbaijani SSR .
Since Azerbaijan's independence was restored in 1991, the administration building has been used by the Presidential Office. In 2005 the building was renamed the Presidential Palace.
task
Advising the President of Azerbaijan in his administration, reporting to the President on political events, drafting the text of the law for consultation and voting in parliament and preparing the decisions of the President as well as carrying out his assignments are among the tasks of the President's Office. The President's Office checks the status of the implementation of the laws, ordinances and instructions of the President and presents the President with appropriate reports.
