Praetorius Peter Walter Albrecht Freiherr von Richthofen-Boguslawitz , also Praetorius (born May 11, 1879 on Gut Dürrjentsch ; † December 15, 1949 on the Moralthof near Lenggries ) was a German landowner and politician ( DNVP ).

Life and work

His parents were the manor owner Friedrich von Richthofen (1842–1905) and Henriette von Posadowsky-Wehner (1852–1939). Praetorius von Richthofen married Charlotte Emilie von Boineburg-Lengsfeld (1885–1968) in 1908.

Richthofen attended the Magdalenäumgymnasium in Breslau from 1886 to 1892 and then went through a cadet corps, which he left in 1896 with the upper secondary qualification. He then worked as a farmer and manor owner in Boguslawitz near Kattern in the district of Breslau . From 1914 to 1918 he took part in the First World War as a soldier in Hussar Regiment No. 4 , most recently as a lieutenant. From 1920 to 1932 he was a member of the Provisional Reich Economic Council . He also acted as chairman of the Silesian Land Federation .

MP

Richthofen was elected to the German Reichstag in the Reichstag elections in May 1924 , to which he belonged until his resignation on February 2, 1926 and again from May 1928 to September 1930. In parliament he represented the constituency of Wroclaw.

The MP Hartmann von Richthofen (1878-1953), also elected in the Reichstag elections in May 1924, was a distant relative who represented the constituency of South Hanover-Braunschweig.
