Exam Yuan
The Examination Yuan ( Chinese 考試 院 / 考试 院 , Pinyin Kǎoshì Yuàn ) is one of the five Yuans (State Council) of the Republic of China in Taiwan in Taipei and monitors the performance and qualifications of officials. There are also yuan for the legislative , executive , judicial and control branches . This yuan is a complement to the separation of powers and can be compared to the European Personnel Selection Office or the United States Office of Personnel Management . The yuan was founded by the Chinese nationalists of the Republic of China in the 20th century, but it is based on the Chinese civil service examination of the Empire of China . The first minister was Dai Jitao .
