Pretties for You is the debut album of the band Alice Cooper . It was produced by the band and released in August 1969 as one of the first albums on Frank Zappa's newly founded label Straight Records .
The album was unsuccessful in the charts and only reached number 193 in the US charts. Reflected was released as a single . The song did not reach the charts.
The album was rated 3.5 / 5 stars by Allmusic . For Stephen Thomas Erlewine, the album did not reflect the legendary and exaggerated hard rock for which the band was later famous. Pretties for You is still a serious album. Lester Bangs from Rolling Stone described the album as audible despite the band's self-inflicted restrictions. He misses spontaneity, anger, real passion and conviction. Therefore the album is superfluous for him.
