Preu
The Preu are a Franconian noble family with their headquarters in Weißenburg in Bavaria , a large district town in the Middle Franconian district of Weißenburg-Gunzenhausen . The Preu are an old patrician family from the imperial city of Weißenburg . It is first mentioned with Peter Jakob Preu (1440–1518).
The patrician , Lord of the Interior Council and Elector Peter von Preu, was raised to the nobility on March 28, 1538 by King Ferdinand I , who later became Emperor of the Holy Roman Empire . The coat of arms is kept as a facsimile from 1760 at the Antiquities Association in Weissenburg, the original is on the Hradschin in Prague .

The Preu family leads the beating wolf under Bavarian blue-silver, split vertically seven times in the coat of arms.

On November 15, 1530 it was decided by a large majority under Peter von Preu (1464-1550) as Lord of the Interior Council and elector in the St. Andrew's Church in Weissenburg to accept the Confessio Augustana and thereby become Protestant .
