Preußen Hastenrath (officially: Fußballclub Preußen Hastenrath 1912 eV ) was a sports club from the Eschweiler district of Hastenrath in the Aachen city region . The first soccer team played for a year in the highest amateur league in the Middle Rhine region.

history

The association was founded in 1912. In 1947 the Prussians rose to the district class and three years later they became runner-up behind Alemannia Mariadorf . Since the state league , which was the highest amateur league on the Middle Rhine at the time, was again two-pronged, the second place was enough for the Hastenrathern to rise. Despite a 6-1 victory over the champions SV Baesweiler 09 , the Prussians had to relegate after just one year as third from bottom.

In 1953 and 1954 the team was runner-up behind SuS Herzogenrath and Haarener FV . This was followed by a sporty descent, which ended in 1961 with the descent into the district class. Subsequently, the club did not get beyond the lower divisions and rose in 2011 to the district league B. In the summer of 2012, the club and SV Nothberg, also founded in 1912, formed a youth game community. Two years later, both clubs merged to form SC 1912 Berger Preuß .
