Preysing column in the forest box

The Preysing Column is an obelisk in the Forst Kasten southwest of Munich . It was built in 1735 by Elector Karl Albrecht von Bayern out of gratitude for the recovery of his Grand Chancellor Max Emmanuel von Preysing on the spot where Preysing had fallen badly. The monument stands on the corner of Preysing Geräum / Neurieder Gangsteig in the southern part of the forest, which is part of the Forstenrieder Park landscape protection area.

history

In 1735, Max Emmanuel von Preysing fell from his horse during a par force hunt in what is now Forst Kasten and remained unconscious for some time. After his Grand Chancellor had recovered, Elector Karl Albrecht had this monument erected on the site of the accident in honor of Our Lady .

The monument was last renovated and conserved in 2008 for around 10,000 euros, the bulk of which was borne by the Heiliggeistspital Foundation.
