Prince Motors Co. Ltd. ( Chinese  太子 汽車工業 股份有限公司 ) was an automobile manufacturer in Taipei , Taiwan .

The company was founded in 1965.

Prince Motors assembled Suzuki models and sold Suzuki and Isuzu vehicles. Tucheng is given as the location of the production facility , while Formosa took over the former production facility in Tatu in 2005 .

Prince Motors has manufactured the three-door Suzuki Escudo since 1990, to which the Grand Vitara and Landy were added in 2000 . Other models from 2001 onwards were the Solio , the Every . The Cultus was only produced in Taiwan from 2000 to 2002 .

From 2007 to 2009, the press reported financial irregularities and problems. At the same time, production fell from around 15,000 units in 2006 to around 3800 vehicles in the first ten months of 2008.

In 2009, Prince Motors agreed to assemble Chery through its subsidiary Shenrong Auto.

Prince Motors was dissolved in early 2012. With this, Suzuki ended its 22-year business relationship with Prince Motors and withdrew its 20% stake in Taiwan Suzuki.
