Princeton is a town and administrative headquarters of the Bureau County in the US -amerikanischen state of Illinois . In 2000 the city had 7,501 inhabitants; in the official estimate in 2009 a population of 7,461 was determined.
history
The area of what is now Princeton was first settled by farmers around 1830. Shortly before the outbreak of the American Civil War in 1861, the city was connected to the expanding rail network, which encouraged the city's growth in the following years.
