Priska Riedl (* 1964 in Schärding ) is an Austrian visual artist and university professor for textile art design at the University of Artistic and Industrial Design in Linz .

Live and act

The artist, who lives and works in Linz and Vienna , has been working as a freelance artist since the mid-1980s in the cross-over of visual , plastic and body and space-related art. She describes textiles , paper and latex both as independent media and as imaging carrier media as defining elements of her works.

Riedl studied from 1981 to 1986 at the University for Artistic and Industrial Design in Linz in the textile master class with Fritz Riedl . From 1988 to 2000 she worked there as a lecturer and assistant. In 2000 she was appointed professor for the textile-art-design department. Since 1994 she has been teaching at the International Summer Academy for Fine Arts Salzburg in the field of paper sculpture. Since 2003 she has been a member of the artists' association MAERZ and since 2010 she has been a member of IAPMA (International Association of Hand Papermakers and Paper Artists). Since 2012 she has played in the art space Priska Riedl - artspace on display in Linz.

Works, exhibitions

Riedl has been exhibiting her works since 1987 in solo and group exhibitions, mainly in Austria. a. in the state gallery at the Upper Austrian State Museum , in the gallery MAERZ , in the Nordico and in the gallery in the Traklhaus .
