Privatbrauerei Schlumberger KG is a brewery in Nattheim , Baden-Württemberg . It produces around 42,000 hl of beer annually.
history
In a Württemberg law signed on January 11, 1770, a regulation made for “ Marquetender, the brewery in Nattheim and the lotteries ” is described, in which not only the “ brewing justice ceded in 1761 ” for the “ Tafern-Wirth Nattheim "is mentioned, but also his exemption from the usual tax levies:" So the beer produced in the brewery town of Nattheim and tapped there should remain free from the Accis levy ".
In 1844, in the description of the Heidenheim District Office - published by the Royal Statistical-Topographical Bureau, the Nattheimer Brewery is mentioned as “ A Schildwirthschaft and a beer brewery are favored by the frequency of the Landstrasse. "
On September 12, 1847, the brewer Leonhard Schlumberger (1817–1879) from Hohenmemmingen acquired this former ducal tavern Zum Ochsen in Nattheim. This purchase is considered to be the foundation of the private brewery. His son Martin Schlumberger (1849–1900) had a new brewery built at the current location on Hauptstrasse. The brewery is still owned by the Schlumberger family today. In 2001 a new commercial building was built on Heidenheimer Strasse.
