The Schiphol-Amsterdam-Almere project ( SAA for short ) is a large road construction project in the Netherlands. The motorway project began in 2012 and is expected to be completed in 2024 Template: future / in 4 years. The aim is to increase the capacities of the A1 , A6 motorways , the eastern part of the A10 and the A9 and thus improve the accessibility of the Randstad area ( Schiphol , Amsterdam , Almere ). This project includes the expansion of a total of 63 km of motorway with two tunnels , two large bridges, an aqueduct , the adaptation of 5 motorway junctions and over 100 other bridges and underpasses. The whole thing is divided into several sub-projects: A10-Ost / A1 Diemen (2012–2014: extra lane; completed), A1 / A6 Diemen - Almere Havendreef (2014–2020), A9 Holendrecht - Diemen (extension of Gaasperdammerweg, 2015–2020; the first groundbreaking took place on September 22, 2015 with Minister Schultz ), A6 Almere Havendreef - Almere Buiten-Oost (2017–2020 / 2022) and A9 Badhoevedorp - Holendrecht (2019–2024 / 2026).

Engineering structures

The largest engineering structures in this project are the Vechtzicht aqueduct , Betlembrug , Gaasperdammertunnel (still under construction), Hollandse Brug and the Zandhazen railway bridge .
