The Rijksweg 10 (short: A10 ) is a Dutch motorway . Despite its short length, the 32-kilometer ring road around Amsterdam is one of the busiest motorways in the Netherlands . Your numbering starts and ends at Knooppunt Coenplein.

Four motorways branch off from the A10: the A8 at Knooppunt Coenplein, the A4 at Knooppunt De Nieuwe Meer, the A2 at Knooppunt Amstel and the A1 at Knooppunt Watergraafsmeer. S-roads, the so-called city streets, are connected to the motorway. They run in a star shape towards the center of Amsterdam.

In the north, the A10 runs between the Knooppunt Coenplein and the Knooppunt Amstel together with the E35 . In the west it runs between the Knooppunt Coenplein and the Knooppunt De Nieuwe Meer together with the E22 .

construction

The construction of the motorway ring began in 1962; the first section was completed four years later. The Coentunnel was opened on June 21, 1966. The western part of the A10 was completed on April 2, 1975, the southern parts on July 7, 1981 and the eastern and northern parts in 1990. The construction was rounded off with the completion of the other tunnel under the IJ , the Seebürgertunnel .
