Projektron BCS (Business Coordination Software) is a commercial web-based project management software for multi - project management .

distribution

The software is currently used in 9 countries by a total of around 37,000 users. Users are E.ON , Nintendo , the German National Library , the HanseMerkur insurance group , UniVersa insurance and Hella Aglaia Mobile Vision . Every sixth of the TOP 100 internet agencies uses Projektron BCS.

Use and special features

The software is mainly used in IT and in development projects. This is why there are many functions that are aimed primarily at IT companies and R&D departments, such as supporting the agile development method Scrum or the ticket system . Other industries, such as over 150 consulting companies, also use Projektron BCS. Smaller companies in particular benefit from functions that go beyond project management, such as quotation and invoicing or contract and applicant management. The software is not designed for the construction industry, as essential functions for construction project management such as awarding are missing.

The motivation for the development of Projektron BCS was to offer both a platform-independent, web-based system as well as a system that could be adapted as comprehensively as possible via configurations. This increases the flexibility of the software, but also requires extensive administrative knowledge on the part of the users. One of the reasons why Projektron BCS is often used by IT companies.

Mey Mark Meyer from Prometicon, who accompanies companies in the selection and introduction of project management software, sees small and medium-sized service providers as a core target group, in addition to IT departments of large companies, whose projects on behalf of customers are particularly due to the numerous everyday functions of the software - such as an appointment calendar , Resubmissions, the management of contracts, vacation and expenses as well as the offer and invoicing - are supported. Projektron BCS was one of the first systems to integrate these everyday functions.

construction

The software has a modular structure. There are user licenses that can be booked individually , for example for employees, project managers, personnel managers, administrators and customers, or for sales, time recording and invoicing .

Functions

Possible uses of Projektron BCS in relation to the value chain of a company

The focus of the software is on supporting single and multi-project management .

In addition to options for project preparation and project coordination , the software also offers functions for documentation and project controlling .

However, the focus is on project planning , which is supported by an assistant. The user can access a template folder in which, for example, certain process models or standard projects are stored. For development projects there is an assistant for project planning according to Scrum , a rare functionality among the larger project management systems. Projektron not only offers the Scrum module to its customers, the software manufacturer's development department also works with it.

After creating the project structure , the time planning and effort planning follow. The workload of the employees is taken into account. Personnel and material costs can be planned. Various evaluations and diagrams on the temporal course of the project, on the effort and costs show possible deadlines or budget overruns.

The user interface is available in German, English, French, Spanish, Italian, Dutch and Hungarian.
