The Promenaden Galleries is a shopping arcade opened in 2018 at Promenade 23 in the city center of Linz , which is named after the promenade to the north .

history

The area extends over the area of the former Roman fort Lentia from the 1st century. The galleries connect the two inner-city buildings Promenade 25 (new building 1852) built by Linz's city architect Johann Metz and the listed building Steingasse 6 from 1837.

After the oldest vocational school in Upper Austria was relocated to Reindlstrasse in 1995, the newspaper printing plant relocated to Pasching in 2003, and the promenade facing the Linz Landhaus was redesigned in 2009 , the area offered a new use. The plans of the Salzburg architecture office Halle 1 by Gerhard Sailer and Heinz Lang were implemented by project manager Paolo Cuturi with a working group of the companies Habau , Porr and Swietelsky . On June 25, 2018, the Promenaden Galleries were officially opened.

description
