The Protonuraghe Corongiu Maria (also Corongiu'e Mari ) is located above the Lago del Flumendosa east of Nurri in the province of Sud Sardegna in Sardinia .

The round Protonuraghe Corongiu Maria is a good example of an archaic Protonuraghe (also corridor or pseudonuraghe, Italian Nuraghe a corridoio ) with a cantilever vault - corridor through the center of the structure and entrances at both ends. The east entrance has collapsed, but the triangular west entrance is in good shape.

Time position

The approximately 300 Protonuraghi on Sardinia were formed during phase B of the two-phase Bonnanaro culture , which was the successor to the both megalithic and Copper Age Monte Claro culture between 1800 and 1500 BC. Ruled.
