Province is a German indie pop band from Vogt that was founded in 2017.
history
The two cousins Waizenegger and Schmid from the Baden-Württemberg community Vogt in the Ravensburg district had been making music together under the name Twice for a long time. The third cousin Bösing joined them later. After drummer Sennewald joined in 2017, the band changed the name to Provinz. The band took part in the Bandpool funding competition in Mannheim and came into contact with record companies.
Province then signed a record deal with the major label Warner Music in 2019 . The first single Neonlicht was released in March 2019 . On May 3, 2019, the first EP Reicht dir das was released, which, in addition to the title song of the same name, included the three other pieces Neonlicht , What makes us high and Too young . The EP was recorded in the Hansa Studios in Berlin by producer Tim Tautorat, who also produced AnnenMayKantereit and Faber . This was followed by appearances at larger festivals such as KOSMOS in Chemnitz and the Reeperbahn Festival as well as a television appearance at Inas Nacht .
The debut album Wir built US America - initially announced for April 17th, then postponed to August 14th, was finally released on July 17th, 2020. The first pre-single was released in October 2019, the song Augen sind rot , with which Provinz appeared in the TV show Late Night Berlin on ProSieben .
