The Liaoning Provincial Museum ( Chinese  遼寧 省 博物館  /  辽宁 省 博物馆 , Pinyin Liáoníng shěng Bówùguǎn ) is the largest museum in Liaoning Province , and is one of the so-called 8 imposing museums in China outside of Beijing . The museum is located in the provincial capital Shenyang , the old political center of Manchuria . Therefore, his collection emerged from the imperial possession of the Manchu and after the Second World War it essentially reached its present form. The gallery of Chinese painting and calligraphy is one of the most important of its kind. Other highlights include the worldwide unique inventory of ceramics of the Kitan as well as objects made of jade of the Hongshan culture .
