The Publigroupe SA (proper spelling PubliGroupe , as Wortbildmarke PUBLIGroupe ) based in Lausanne was an international marketing -, sales and service group for media and advertisers. The company had its origins in the mid-19th century and was founded in 1890. From 1916 until it was converted into a holding company in 1997, the company was called Publicitas, until 2014 a subsidiary of PubliGroupe. PubliGroupe was active in the media areas of directories , press, internet, television, cinema , radio and mobile advertising .

On April 2, 2014, PubliGroupe announced that it would sell Publicitas. The sale of Publicitas, the media sales division of PubliGroupe, to the German investment company Aurelius AG was completed on June 30, 2014 after PubliGroupe's shareholders had approved the transactions and the competition authorities had approved them, and all formalities for the transaction had been completed . Aurelius handed Publicitas over to management at the end of 2016.

Following the successful completion of the public takeover of PubliGroupe, Swisscom became the new owner of PubliGroupe on September 5, 2014. As a result, the publisher of the communications magazine, which had previously belonged to PubliGroupe, was personally sold to the previous editor-in-chief Matthias Ackeret and co-investor Manfred Klemann . After the merger, PubliGroupe was deleted as a company in mid-2015.

In 2018, Publicitas, which was in economic difficulties, lost several major customers due to unpaid bills and finally filed for bankruptcy on May 11, 2018 at the Bülach District Court . AZ Medien , the Corriere del Ticino , the NZZ , Tamedia and the Association of Swiss Media immediately founded a new company called “AdAgent AG” to support advertising customers and publishers in handling print campaigns.
