Puccinia abramsii is a stand fungal art from the order of the rust fungi (Pucciniales). The fungus is an endoparasite of the daisy family Geraea viscida . Symptoms of the infestation by the species are rust spots and pustules on the leaf surfaces of the host plants. She is endemic to California .

Macroscopic features

Puccinia abramsii can only be recognized with the naked eye by means of the spore beds protruding on the surface of the host. They grow in nests that appear as yellowish to brown spots and pustules on the leaf surfaces.

Microscopic features

The mycelium of Puccinia abramsii grows as with all Puccinia TYPES intercellular and forms Saugfäden that grow into the storage tissue of the host. Your spermogonia grow on both sides of the host leaves. The bilateral growing aecia of the species are orange-brown and stand in confluent groups around the spermogonia. They have 25–35 × 21–29 µm large, long to broad ellipsoidal, cinnamon-brown aeciospores with a spiky surface. Uredia cannot be assigned to the fungus with certainty, it may not develop any. The predominantly underside of the leaves of the species are black-brown, powdery and uncovered. The light chestnut-brown teliospores are two-celled, usually ovate to broadly ellipsoidal and 40–48 × 29–32 µm in size. Their stem is colorless and up to 40 µm long.
