The place Puchschlag is a part of the municipality Schwabhausen in Bavaria with 290 inhabitants.

history

The name Puchschlag is derived from the expression “ book chopping”, which refers to the earlier beech forests. Puchschlag is also known for the St. Kastulus Church . A church in Puchschlag was first mentioned in a document as early as 814. The current church dates from the late Gothic period. In 1663, after the devastation in the Thirty Years' War , it was redesigned in Baroque style , leaving the choir and the tower substructure in place, and further rebuilt in 1729. In the northern corner of the choir is the 42 m high tower, visible from afar. It is one of the most elegant baroque towers in the wide area.

As early as 1220 to 1230, an Otto Pes (= foot), ducal ministerial, was wealthy in the village. In 1639, after the devastation in the Thirty Years' War, the administration of the Puchschlag office was relocated to Schwabhausen. The municipality of Puchschlag was created through the municipal edict of 1818 . This was incorporated into Schwabhausen near Dachau on January 1, 1972.
