Pulau Pepatan is a small island in the mouth of the Brunei River in Brunei . It is designated as the Pulau Pepatan Nature Reserve .

geography

The island is part of the Seria Anticline and forms part of the Brunei Inner Bar and an extension of the hill of Limbang , Malaysia , which stretches from southwest to northeast into Brunei Bay . This formation also includes the neighboring island of Pulau Baru-Baru , which is only separated from Pulau Pepatan by a narrow channel and the Simpang 747 . Due to the folding of the layers, numerous ridges run parallel to each other, and so the islands of Pulau Chermin and Pulau Kaingaran as well as Pulau Berambang in the west form foothills of the neighboring ridge.

Pulau Pepatan itself rises only a few meters above the water level. It has an oval floor plan and is now densely forested and uninhabited.
